My Best Friend

google image

The Lord God is my best friend. My wife is second, well she is the best human friend that I have on this earth. Do you think of God as your friend? You should, don't be one of the many that do not. The Lord is the best friend a person can EVER have. He stays with us, by our side, when everyone else bails and runs. He is the one with all power and wants to help us in time of need, no matter how great that need is. He will stay with us even when we mess up big time (and there is a lot of that going on right now) He is there when we feel overwhelmed, like we are on a spiritual Titanic and we hit two icebergs not just one. We should not be stupid and reject God. He is the King of KIngs and Lord of Lords, there is reward and joy for accepting His Friendship and returning it. There is nothing but pain and sorrow if we do not want Him as friend, both in this life and the next one. The Lord wants to forgive not to judge, and whichever we get from Him, forgiveness and friendship or judgement and condemnation, well that is a choice that is left entirely up to us.

Psalm 94: 12-23 My daily devotional June 11, 2020

12 Blessed is the one you discipline, Lord,

the one you teach from your law;

13 you grant them relief from days of trouble,

till a pit is dug for the wicked.

14 For the Lord will not reject his people;

he will never forsake his inheritance.

15 Judgment will again be founded on righteousness,

and all the upright in heart will follow it.

16 Who will rise up for me against the wicked?

Who will take a stand for me against evildoers?

17 Unless the Lord had given me help,

I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death.

18 When I said, “My foot is slipping,”

your unfailing love, Lord, supported me.

19 When anxiety was great within me,

your consolation brought me joy.

20 Can a corrupt throne be allied with you—

a throne that brings on misery by its decrees?

21 The wicked band together against the righteous

and condemn the innocent to death.

22 But the Lord has become my fortress,

and my God the rock in whom I take refuge.

23 He will repay them for their sins

and destroy them for their wickedness;

the Lord our God will destroy them.
