See The World

I remember when I was about ten years old I was fascinated with the thought of travel. I wanted to see the world and visit exotic places. Great places, wonderful places. I wanted to be impressed, have those Wow moments, to see something that would take my breath away. I wanted to photograph those moments. I didn't care to see those touristy things, the world's biggest ball of yarn, or largest fry pan, whatever. I wanted to see the Grand Canyon, and Niagara Falls, sail over, and maybe dive the Great Barrier Reef, see Sugarloaf Mountain in Rio de Janeiro, and Victoria Falls. I wanted to see the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. One of those was, is, the Aurora Borealis, the Northern lights. I read about those and how they appeared at the Battle of Fredericksburg on December 14, 1862, on that awful day during the Civil War. Many soldiers saw them as a sign from God. I wanted to see them for myself. I still do actually. I am fascinated by light. I love sunsets, I have seen a breathtaking one over the Grand Canyon. I have seen the sun rise over Mt Fuji in Japan, from the window of an airplane. I have seen ocean sun rises, and mountain sunsets. When I have these Wow moments, I am also aware of who makes them, and my heart soars......

Oh God, When I in Awesome Wonder, Consider all the Works that You have made.......

Psalm 104

1 Praise the Lord, my soul.

Lord my God, you are very great;

you are clothed with splendor and majesty.

2 The Lord wraps himself in light as with a garment;

he stretches out the heavens like a tent

3 and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters.

He makes the clouds his chariot

and rides on the wings of the wind.

4 He makes winds his messengers,

flames of fire his servants.

5 He set the earth on its foundations;

it can never be moved.

6 You covered it with the watery depths as with a garment;

the waters stood above the mountains.

7 But at your rebuke, the waters fled,

at the sound of your thunder they took to flight;

8 they flowed over the mountains,

they went down into the valleys,

to the place, you assigned for them.

9 You set a boundary they cannot cross;

never again will they cover the earth.
